the God Cage
November 7, 2007
We frame God
in a cage of words
like a monkey
begging for coins.
We give God
human masks -
inspire none
beyond their loins.
wrestling with congruency…
We frame God
in a cage of words
like a monkey
begging for coins.
We give God
human masks -
inspire none
beyond their loins.

Well said.
I have always felt that in trying to define and understand God, we attempt the impossible.

Dear christine, wordlywise, and juxtafem,
Thank you for commenting.
I sometimes think that poems try to transcend the prison of this central nervous system existence. They are a curious mix between yin/yang, rational/irrational, left/right, and so on as if fighting fire with fire - duality with duality . Poems bang on glass walls shouting Hey What About This! Hey Look At That!
