Chinese rulers like the US model:

Keep the masses occupied and materially oriented.
Feed them “must see”/ “must play” content.
Imply that jobs are supposed to suck.
Normalize aristocratic living as THE life goal.
Make it unpatriotic (or uncool) to think otherwise.
Render freedom irrelevant.

    Qazse,
    I always associate America to Rome. T.V to the Coliseum. The Caesars to the myopic leaders. etc. etc…
